If you value good old fashioned courtesy as well as results you have come to the right place. I am a journalist with marketing nous so can help you with all your communications needs. And with a small number of clients I can go the extra mile to do a stellar job.
Give me your brief and I will give you a strategy with vision that makes your messages crystal clear. Did I mention that you can count on me being here when you need me, 24/7? Good. I have the time and energy to put more into the relationships. You get more out of it when it comes to quality of work. Maybe even the odd coffee and pastry. And perhaps best of all, doing quality work with a small number of clients means I can keep overheads down. I offer special discounted rates to charities, social enterprises and voluntary organisations. Get in touch to find out more. Here's a taster of some of the things I have worked on...
I organised and promoted a special four day conference featuring keynote speaker Dr Bruce Perry, world renowned child psychiatrist, FBI consultant and acclaimed co author of They Boy Who Was Raised As a Dog. The event was hosted by Kibble, Scotland's Specialist Centre for Young People at Risk. Kibble is a leading social enterprise that provides education, residential care and employment training for looked after young people. I secured above target attendance at the event and generated local and national press coverage.
Marie Dunleavy is a mum who was inspired to write her own books for son Daniel who has Downs Syndrome. I worked with Marie as she started her business to bring a range of educational products to market in Scotland through a press campaign, events and strategic business development. Thanks to the press coverage visits to the website shot up in just one month. We got coverage on BBC Scotland, Edinburgh Evening News, the Metro, Daily Record, Times Educational Supplement, East Lothian Courier and more. Now, the books are used in schools across Scotland and the UK with children who have a wide range of additional support needs.
I worked with Scottish Business in the Community to clarify their messages accross their newsletter, website, annual report and email communications to all their audiences including businesses, policy makers and the media. To kick things off I proposed a different way of presenting their services that won staff buy in. Then we took it to press. I also worked with them to develop a communications strategy covering media, events marketing and influencing policy makers.
With over nine years experience serving on boards I understand the unique challenges and opportunities facing charities and voluntary organisations and can help you make PR a cost effective way of reaching supporters, fundraisers, policy makers and the media. Over the last few years I have developed specialist media relations and training skills working with social enterprises like The Melting Pot, Dundee International Womens Centre and member organisations in the sector including The Social Enterprise Coalition and the Social Enterprise Academy.
